The Role of the Circulatory System

In our previous blog we looked at the construction of the heart and how it functions to supply the oxygen and nutrients to the body and how it also works to carry carbon dioxide and waste from the body. The heart would be useless if it did not have a system by which to transport and distribute the necessities of the body. We shall continue our discovery of the workings of our body as we look at the role of the circulatory system.

The Blood
Blood System

The cardiovascular system

The mechanism in which the heart pumps its life giving fluid is called the cardiovascular system. This system is composed of three components: the heart, the blood and the blood vessels. It is manifested in two phases, the systemic and the pulmonary.

The systemic portion is that part which delivers oxygen rich blood to the different parts of the body along with nutrients necessary for production of energy in the cells of the body. The avenues through which it delivers its cargo are called arteries.

The pulmonary circulation system is the one that carries oxygen depleted blood away from the cell back to the heart through veins and then from the heart to the lungs where it exchanges carbon dioxide for oxygen.

The blood which is pumped through this system is composed of four things: plasma, red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells. Each of these have their own function which we shall address later.

The circulatory system is also interconnected with the digestive system which provides nutrients for the heart and circulatory system as well as for other parts of the body.

The cardiovascular system is a closed system, meaning that the blood never leaves the system of the blood vessels. However, the blood vessel allows certain nutrients, oxygen and carbon dioxide to diffuse across its layers into what is called the interstitial fluid to be directed to the target cell.

Blood vessel
Blood vessel cross-section

The function of arteries

The function of arteries is to carry oxygenated blood to the various parts of the body. It begins its systemic work as it leaves the left ventricle of the heart and enters the aorta. The aorta is the largest artery in the body. All arteries and capillaries are directly linked to or can trace their connections back to the aorta. The aorta has a very thick wall which is elastic, a trait which is helpful in regulating blood pressure throughout the body. As blood vessels link off of the aorta and then further to capillaries, the elasticity of the vessel wall is diminished.

As arteries branch off the aorta they continue to branch into smaller vessels called arterioles and the arterioles branch into capillaries which then merge into the system by which deoxygenated blood is returned to the heart and lungs.

Human circulatory system

The function of veins

The pulmonary system is carried out through the veins. Veins are those vessels through which deoxygenated blood is carried back to the heart and lungs. This process begins when venules that are merged with capillaries receive carbon dioxide through their vessel walls from the interstitial fluid to begin its transport back to the heart. It flows from the venules into larger vessels known as veins and then on into either the superior vena cava or the inferior vena cava. These then empty into the right atrium of the heart.

It then is pumped out of the right ventricle of the heart to the lungs where the blood exchanges carbon dioxide for oxygen and then is returned to the left atrium of the heart to begin the journey once again.

Blood for the heart

Parts of the Heart

Blood for the heart is supplied through a loop in the systemic circulation. It derives little if any from the blood within the chamber.

My thoughts

We have given an overview of how the circulatory system of the human body works. There is more to come, but this will set the foundation of how all oxygen and nutrients are transported to the areas of the body where they are needed. Without the heart and the circulatory system there would be no human life as we know it. It is one of those things that must be in place for many other systems and functions that are necessary for life. Take away the circulatory system and you take away life.

The circulatory system is only one part of an almost infinitely complex machine which we call the human body. It can not survive by itself, nor could any of the other parts or systems survive without it. It is in essence an irreducibly complex system that to take away one part would cause the whole system to collapse.

There are many who believe that this system developed through what is called evolution. They assume that because they have a world view based on the fact that everything that we observe in nature came about by accident. They do not allow for a greater being who may be outside of nature and who is more powerful and has more knowledge that is contained in nature. Therefore, their only recourse is to believe that all that is observed came from nothing and evolved to what we see today.

When someone of this persuasion is asked to give a logical progression of how a system such as the cardiovascular system might have evolved by accident they will seldom even attempt to describe a path. More often than not they merely assume that evolution occurred. And quite often the response is, “We are here. So it must have happened.” If you accept that as a scientific statement then you have been indoctrinated.

The reason most who believe in evolution believe it, is because that is all that they have been taught. Those whom they held in great respect lied to them about how creation came to be. If you were reared being told by those in authority that “the big bang” was how everything began that anything other than that was not science, what would you believe?

My challenge to you

Begin to reason for yourself. Do not discount what those in authority tell you, but do respectfully ask them to give you logical and coherent reasons for why they believe it. Ask them if there are those who are authorities in the same area disagree with their assessment. An important point to make is that “Truth” is not determined by consensus. Because everybody believes a thing does not make it true. “Truth” does not change. “Truth” is the same for one nation as for another. “Truth” is “Truth” for the dark skinned person as well as the light skinned person.

Can you think of any document which has not changed from what it has stated as “Truth”? I can. It is a document which was inspired by The Creator of all that you see. He is the one Who created you. That document is called “The Holy Bible”. I challenge you to get that document and honestly and critically read it. Then make your decision.

About Circulation of the Blood

Next to the brain the most important organ in the human body is the heart. There would be no need for the heart if there was not a system by which the heart could transport its’ most important product, the blood. So, I thought we might begin some blogs to look at the heart and learn more about circulation of the blood. We shall begin by looking at the engine which provides the power and get a rudimentary understanding of what goes on in this wonderfully designed pump that can last for up to a hundred years, in some cases, and never miss a beat.

Parts of the heart

heart
Parts of the Heart

This is by no means a text book on the heart. But many of us have no idea what our heart is made up of. We shall get a snap shot of the main parts which make up our heart and how they work.

We shall begin with the Aorta. The aorta is the largest artery in your body. It’s main job is to carry oxygen rich blood out of the heart to all the parts of your body.

When the blood returns it enters the Atria. The blood returning to the atria is de-oxygenated, or low in oxygen.

The heart has four valves called Cardiac Valves which regulate the flow of blood through the atria(chambers) mentioned above.

The Heart Ventricles are the lower left and right chambers of the heart.

There is a stout wall which separates the ventricles which is called Interventricular Septum.

The main muscle of the heart is called the Myocardium. It lies in the middle of the three layers which make up the wall of the heart.

The Pulmonary Artery carries de-oxygenated blood from the heart to the air sacs of the lungs.

The Pulmonary Veins bring oxygenated blood from the lungs to the left atrium of the heart.

Two other veins are the Superior Vena Cave and the Vena Cave. The Superior brings blood from the head, neck, arms and chest to the heart. The Vena Cava brings blood from the head, neck and extremities.

The Aorta

Blood flow
The Aorta

The purpose of arteries is to carry blood away from the heart. The largest artery in the human body is the aorta. Every artery in the body is connected directly or indirectly to the aorta. The aorta ascends from the heart and then arches and descends through the core, or thorax of the body.

The Atria

To get a better understanding of the atria see the picture below which shows the flow of the blood to and from the atria.

Heart view
Atria

Cardiac Valves

If you have ever worked with any type of pump, you know that an efficient valve system must be in place. The heart is no different. The heart employs two types of valves. They are the semilunar and the atrioventricular. When ventricular flex, the atrioventricular close to prevent a back flow of blood to the atria. When the ventricles relax the semilunar valve closes to prevent blood from flowing back into the ventricles.

The Flow

The Blood
Blood System

Blood circulation begins when the heart relaxes between two beats. When this happens blood flows from the atria, which are the two upper chambers, into the ventricles, which are the lower chambers. The ventricles, which were relaxed, now flex and expel the blood into the large arteries, the right going to the lungs and the left to the aorta. In the systemic(pertaining to the system or body) section the ventricle pumps the blood into the aorta which distributes it to various parts of the body where it delivers oxygen and nutrients and takes on carbon dioxide and wastes. It now enters into the veins and travels back to the right atrium and into the right ventricle.

Now, the right ventricle contracts and pumps the oxygen poor blood into the pulmonary artery which takes it to the lungs where the wastes are expelled and the blood takes on fresh oxygen. It then leaves the lungs through the pulmonary vein and heads back to the left atrium of the heart where the process begins again.

Continuing

Though I have very simplistically described the process about circulation of the blood, you can see that it is dependent on a lot of intricately balanced processes. We shall continue to look at these processes in the coming days and weeks just to see how magnificent a creation that the human body is. As we continue to look into this subject it will become evident that the intricacies and timings and balances of so many things are necessary for life to be carried on.

There are many who think that the living things which we observe came about by accident and that there is no design intended. Those people believe, and I stress that it is a “belief”, in what is called evolution. If you have read or heard of anyone who espouses evolution you will, with a little perception or critical observation, notice that there are seldom scientific evidences presented to support such a theory. If evidence is presented it is never empirical or repeatable.

Those who have studied the human body, such as medical doctors and surgeons rarely allude to evolution. They are very much aware of the intricate balances which must be maintained for life to exist. It used to be that living things were thought to range from simple to more complex. With the discovery and growing understanding of DNA it has been found that there is no such thing as simple life forms. The “simplest” life forms are more complex than any machinery that humans have every conceived of, even more complex that our super computers.

Just looking at the foundations of the circulatory system of the human body we find that the balance and timing of many different parts are necessary or the life sustaining blood would not get to where it must get to nor would it be able to deliver the things that it must deliver nor could it rid the body of the waste that it must.

The life is in the blood

The Bible declared many years before medical science figured it out that, “The life is in the blood.” The evolutionist claims that this happened by accident. The Creator of all life designed it that way. The whole body system declares it. If you lose the blood, you lose life.

There is a blood that gives life and gives it forever. That blood is the blood which Jesus shed when He gave His life for all mankind on the cross. Jesus became the spotless lamb whose blood was shed to pay the price for our sins. By receiving Jesus, you can claim His death as payment for your sin. His shed blood washes you and cleanses you from all your sin, past, present and future.

Now you can really begin living.

Is True Discipline Love?

I have just read lately about one of the major Christian denominations problems with addressing the LGBT situation of our country. The newly elected president of the denomination has stated that he would give up “being right” so as not to lose the friendship of an LGBT person. There have been many comments set forth about the comments. Some have been Biblical and some not exactly Biblical. By the fact that it has raised such a tumult indicates that true Christianity has not been working in this company. My question to them would be, “Is true discipline love?”

Lasts forever
God’s Word

What does the Bible say?

What does the Bible say about this subject? First of all and above all the Bible makes clear that God is LOVE. Nothing supersedes that axiom. The question becomes then, “How is that love expressed?” The greatest expression of that love is Jesus, God’s only-begotten Son, hanging on a cross, bearing the sins of the world and paying the total price of the sin of every person who would ever live on this earth. In so doing He opened the door for whosoever will receive that love.

Now, we must understand that God’s standard is perfection. Perfection leaves no room for comparison of sins when we stand before the perfection of the God of Creation. So we can not compare me to you and think that I can please God over you. Neither of us can in our own self. There is only One Who can, and that is Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might be the righteousness of God in Him.” In Colossians 1:27 Paul the apostle writes concerning those who have gone before, “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” In Galatians 3:27 he says it this way: “For as many of you were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” Your hope then is not in yourself but in Christ Jesus Who is in you and in Whom you are. The perfect Judge of the universe does not see you but He sees Jesus. Therefore, you are declared, “Righteous”. That is the greatest expression of love in all creation.

Where to stand

Since the price for everyone’s sin has been paid, God’s love is extended to everyone. But it is not forced on anyone. Now, the new president of that denomination has made the ambiguous statement, “We have to love our gay neighbor more than we love our position on sexual morality.” We must then ask, “From where does one get their position on morality?” For the Christian the source of morality is the Word of God, the Bible. The problem for the above statement is not the love that we should have for all people, but which is loved more. It is clear from the quoted statement that he is exalting a desire to be accepted by someone over the loving stance of God’s Word. After all, when the serpent tempted Eve he did not openly attack God, he merely offered an alternative.

Showing love

If the new president of the denomination is seeking to show love to the LGBT person he should step back and take a look at his approach. If a blind person were walking toward a 1000-foot cliff and would surely fall over the edge at any moment, would you try to build a relationship with them by continuing to walk toward the cliff with them? Or would you come alongside and gently warn them of the impending danger and then if they did not stop use ever stronger warnings. True love does the latter. It is not relationships that will save the LGBT person. It is the Word of God that will save them. God did not say that He would honor your relationships with people to bring them into His Kingdom. The only thing that has the power to bring anyone out of darkness into light is the Word of God. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my Word be that goes forth from My mouth, It shall not return to Me void, but It shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” When describing how faith comes in Romans 10, Paul wrote, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Just one more example of the power of God’s Word. Read Genesis chapter one. How did God bring about creation? He used His Words. The only thing that will turn LGBT people from their sin is the same thing that turned every Christian from his or her sin, The Word of God.

Sheer Cliff
Over the Edge

Apparently this man has a denominational slant in his understanding of God’s word. True love does not let the blind person walk over the edge of the cliff while you fain love for them. That is love of self, thinking you have impressed someone with your kindness and understanding and false humility. You will let a person go headlong into hell so that you look good to other religious and pious people. Jesus, in Matthew 4:17 preached, “Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Repent means to turn from the direction you are going and go the other way.

Romans 1:18ff, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. for since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

Mr. President of the denomination, please understand that the LGBT people are aware that there is a God. Your job is not to judge them or think that you can get them into the Kingdom of Heaven through building a relationship, but your goal and my goal and the goal of every Christian is to love them with the love of God and to lovingly share the Word of God that calls us to repentance, to turn from our sins, and to receive the life of Jesus(Who is the Word) into our lives.

Creation vs Evolution Evidence

The big debate between creationists and evolutionists as to how everything came into being has always been going on since discourse has been carried on between humans. In this article I would like to begin to look at the creation vs evolution evidence that supposedly verifies one or the other. It shall not be a comprehensive study but rather a beginning outline or structure on which to build an ongoing comparison.

Did it happen
Monkey to Man

Evolution science

We shall begin with evolution. Most people think that Charles Darwin came up with evolution. That is not the case. He made it popular when he published his On the Origin of Species in 1859. He actually plagiarized many of his thoughts from previous researchers and presented them as his own. He rushed to publish his work in 1859 because someone else was going to set forth the idea of “natural selection” as a means of evolution. Because he rushed the publication there had to be subsequent publications with many changes and additions.

Evolution became the popular theme among the elitist humanists of that time. They began to propagandize Darwin’s theory and promote it as true science. The promo was that somehow the first living thing developed in a warm pool of water and over time it spawned more of itself and by “natural selection” became more and more complex. As knowledge of living things grew and the understanding of its’ complexity increased it became necessary to add years to the existence of the universe and this planet. At first they added thousands of years. Then as understanding grew they had to add millions of years. And with the increase of understanding of what life is it had to be increased by hundreds of millions of years and then billions of years.

It was finally determined that the earth was 4.5 billion years old. This was done by comparing the ratio of U/238 to Pb/206. The 4.5 billion years the half-life of U/238. This fit well with the evolutionist view of the age of the earth and allowed what they thought was plenty of time for evolution.

Another evidence set forth by evolutionists is that living things change. From one generation to the next there are noticeable and quantifiable change. In their reasoning this proves evolution. For over a century this seemed to carry a lot of weight in the evidential area.

The beginning of life on earth has always been a thorn in the side of the evolutionists. At first they merely accepted the initiation of life from non-living material as a fact because, as they used to say, “Here we are.” But as knowledge increased it became less acceptable as an explanation(which it was not, anyway). So, as science brought us to understand that we are part of a universe which is unimaginably huge, they switched to the probability angle. “With so many galaxies and so many potential “earths”, surely the possibility of life beginning somewhere was evident?”

These are just a few of the “evidences” that evolutionists have set forth over the years. From time to time adjustments or addendum must be added to these “evidences” for them to still have standing in the scientific community. However, the evolutionists were able to become entrenched in the educational establishment when knowledge of the structure of life was very limited so that today it is more “consensus” which determines “evidence” than scientific empirical facts.

The Myth
Creation

Creation science

As much as evolutionists do not want to admit that creation can be a scientific subject, there are evidences that point to the fact of a creation. Of course, most creationists base their creation on the scenario set forth in the Holy Bible. They believe that there is a being who is all knowing, ever present and all powerful, who is separate from time and matter and creation. Evolutionists say that such beliefs are unscientific. But the creationists say to look at the evidence.

Evolutionists declare that only natural causes and premises can be acknowledged in the study of science. Does a true scientist set limits on what truths can be considered when looking into scientific matters? Is science only materialistic? Is it truly scientific when you cannot consider all viable considerations in following the facts? What if scientists had determined that only factors that fit the Ptolemaic hypothesis of the solar system would be allowed to be considered in describing the layout of our solar system?

Creationists look to the laws of physics and thermodynamics when they describe how the creation scenario fits into real science models. They point out that in creation science there is a beginning point for time and matter and energy. Creation models account for and allow for the first and second laws of thermodynamics. No “epicycles” have to be invented to allow for them. When a supernatural Creator is involved the law of cause and effect is functional. If there is no supernatural there is no cause and effect.

Logic
Logical Saying

Logic 101

Ockham’s razor states that “when presented with competing hypothetical answers to a problem, one should select the answer that makes the fewest assumptions.”

Let us look at the two alternatives. Beginning with evolution let’s see what the assumptions are. It is assumed that the earth is 4.5 billion years old. It is assumed that the universe is 13+ billion years old. It is assumed that life began in a warm pool of water some 3 billion years ago and somehow over millions of years increased information in its’ DNA little by little assumed mutations until it arrived at human being. It also assumes that the fossil record paints a picture of evolution. It assumes that radiometric dating is correct when all it really does is measure amounts of elements and their ratios. It assumes that all nuclear half-lives are static and unchanging. There are other assumptions as well.

It assumes that the simplest living form, which has 356 proteins assembled itself by accident. (The chance of such a thing happening by chance is figured to be around 1 chance in ten followed by 4000 zeros. That is an assumption? That is an impossibility.

God and Science
God Inspired

Logic 102

There is one assumption made in creation science. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” If Mr. Ockham’s razor is correct there seems to be only one logical answer to the debate of creation vs evolution evidence. Logic dictates that creation science follows the evidence. The evidence clearly points to a creative act and a Creator Who sustains the creation.

Conclusion

Just because the evidence points to creation does not mean that all will accept that fact. As we have seen, the educational elite wish to deny creation because that would imply a creator. If there is a creator, that means we are His creation and therefore subject to His laws and rulership. The amazing thing about this Creator is that He made human beings in His image to the point that we can make our own choices. If we choose not to believe all the proofs He has given us and decide that we do not wish to be subject to Him, He freely allows us to make that choice. However, He has set natural and spiritual laws in motion which will be honored. If one chooses not to follow the evidence of the Creator there are logical outcomes for that choice.

Just as the federal head(Adam) of all humankind rebelled against the Creator and hence, we all must die. If one dies without choosing to honor his creator then he must spend eternity(there is no end to that, it goes on infinitely) apart from the Creator. There are only two places. The place where the Creator resides is called heaven. The place apart from the Creator is called hell. If one does not choose the Creator he will spend eternity in hell.

I plead with you all, please accept the evidence of creation and embrace the Creator Who Himself bore all your sins to the cross and suffered so that you might spend eternity with Him in heaven. It is not His will that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

He paid the price. The choice is up to you. Choose wisely.

Is Science Empirical-Can You Observe It?

God and Science

There are a lot of things that are taught in science classes today that we are asked to believe because the instructor says so. If that is the case then, is science empirical. The foundational definition of empirical is; something that is verifiable by observation or experience rather than by theory. If that be the case, then much of what is called science today would not qualify as science if science must be empirical. Real science should have some empirical backing. An example would be the rate at which an object falls in a vacuum. (32 ft per second squared) You can perform that experiment anywhere on the globe and the results will be the same by observable and verifiable evidence.

Other science

The question may arise, “Are there other sciences which are not observable but may be verifiable?” Yes, there are. To date no one has ever seen an atom. For a long time they were kind of a made up thing until experiments were suggested in which the atom could be broken up into its’ individual parts, that is split the atom. Those suggesting such an experiment were not at all sure what the outcome would be but they hypothesized that there would be a great release of energy when the parts of the atom(electrons and protons and neutrons) were separated. If the experiment brought this result then the hypothesis would be proved. Their experiment proved the hypothesis. The atomic bomb came into being. Fortunately, science has learned how to carry out the process of separating the parts of an atom at a slower rate thereby releasing energy at a usable rate.

The point I am making is that sometime the actual subject of the object may not itself be seen but the results of that object in a controlled experiment will always yield the same results. It may not be observable but it is verifiable.

So we find that empirical science is science which may be observable and sometimes not observable but will always be verifiable.

Laboratory
Science in Action

False science

Now we turn our attention to what might be called “false science”. This is science which is neither observable nor verifiable.

An example of a false science would be what used to be alchemy. It was a science that said that by certain manipulations one substance could magically be changed to another. The most prominent of alchemy was the one which proposed to turn regular lead into gold. We know today that that is an impossibility. No mixture or concoction or chemicals can make one element change into another. There is no way to set up an experiment by which lead can be changed into gold. If someone did do it, then someone else should be able to do the same experiment and yield the same results. But it is not true science and it can not be done.

Just as turning lead into gold was alchemy and not true science, there are many such “faux science” stories today. There is one which has embedded itself into the scientific establishment over the past century and a half. There is not one empirical presentation of it or experiment that can be set up that will verify its’ existence. It has become a religion among people who call themselves scientists. Most of these so called scientists believe this unverifiable science, therefore “faux science”, because that is what they were taught by their mentors. They trusted that their teachers would tell them the truth. But they failed to check the motivation of the teachers. The plan was hatched for the faux scientists to infiltrate the educational establishments and to gradually and subtly undercut the foundations of real science. You see, these people were humanistic in their world view and had no room for or need of a Creator. They are by definition anti theistic. That simply means that they are against a Creator God. It does not mean that they believe there is no god. It means that they are opposed to God. They want to be God.

The Myth
The Big Bang

Is that science?

Is it necessary to believe in a god to be a scientist? There are some so called scientists who believe that if you believe in a god then you are not a real scientist. They believe that “the cosmos” is all there is. Now, that is a self-refuting statement. To be able to make a statement like that one would have to know all knowledge. In so stating they disqualify themselves as a scientist. One of the definitions of science is “the quest for knowledge”. If one knows everything, there is no need for science. So to declare that “There is no God” disqualifies one as a scientist. What they are practicing is not true science but an agenda. They are not interested in “truth”, but are interested in controlling what you think and what you can do.

Lasts forever
God’s Word

True science

To truly be a scientist one must acknowledge that there is a greater all knowing entity. The One that fits a description that will fulfill a scientific model is the God of the Bible. At the very beginning The Creator gives the mandate to multiply and fill the earth and subdue it(learn about it). Man was to have dominion over all creatures, fish, birds and every living thing that moves. This mandate alone tells you that man was to learn about this creation and use it for his good. This is science at its’ best. If on believes in the God of the Bible then he or she is by nature a true scientist. They are ever delighting in discovering new things about the creation. Questions are always invited because they offer opportunity to devise new experiments which will bring about better understanding of the creation. True scientists do not mind if a hypothesis is proven wrong. It just means that the premises may be incorrect. Therefore, a new hypothesis must be set forth.

True scientists follow the facts. They do not dictate where the facts go.

Conclusion

I closed the above paragraph with the statement which in essence said that true scientists do not determine the end before they begin the experiment. They may hypothesize but they do not determine that a certain outcome must be evident. An example of such a situation would be cycle cell anemia. People with this condition are less susceptible to malaria. Faux scientists said that this showed evolution. Though it is true that people with cycle cell anemia do have much less chance of being infected with malaria, the faux scientists determined that this was evolution in action. That was not an observation based on empirical science. It was a world view imposed upon the results. When it became possible to check the effects of cycle cell anemia on the DNA it was found that the information in a particular gene had been deleted. This was the gene that the malaria virus attached itself to thereby infecting the host. Since that gene, or information, was deleted the true outcome was the exact opposite of supposed evolution. The evolutionist (faux scientist) was proven wrong by the empirical evidence. This is only one of many findings in which the humanistic world view is assumed without any empirical evidence being presented.

To the original question: Is science empirical? The answer is: True science is empirical. Faux science is not empirical. It does not matter if it is the “consensus” or not. If something is assumed for any other reason than observable or verifiable testing then it should be considered “faux science”. The greatest faux science ever forced into an educational system is the faux science of humanism which has fostered and propagated the lies of “The Big Bang” and “evolution”. Neither of which can stand up to rigorous scientific testing.

I hope that you will exercise your God given faculties and apply the logic which is inborn to every human being and reason for your self what is truth and what is a lie.

God bless you.

Is There a Supernatural-Is It Logical

There are two prevailing world views today, both of which believe in the supernatural. The question we shall address today is, “Is there a supernatural?”, and if so, “Is it logical”.

Logic

Let us address logic first. When looking for a definition of logic I have found that most dictionaries side step a clear definition in favor of being ambiguous. So, let us set down a definition which will set true parameters so as to be consistent no matter the situation. We shall liken logic as to the laws of science. I say as to science because logic, though it may be used in deducing physical matters it goes further than just the physical into reasoning of the mind and mathematical reasoning as well. Science deals with the empirical where experiments are done in the physical world and the results can be empirically assessed. In empirical science a hypothesis is set forth and then experiments are done to see if the results fit the hypothesis. If the hypothesis proves correct, then other experiments of the same type can be conducted and if the same results is produced, then the hypothesis becomes a law. But, if the same result is not forthcoming then the hypothesis is falsified. The hypothesis is not considered a law.

So, if someone proposes a particular situation and then makes a hypothesis, if the outcome fits the hypothesis then the statement or situation presents a logical sequence. An example would be the law of cause and effect. It has been proven without failure that the cause of an effect is always greater than the effect. Therefore, logic will conclude that the cause is greater than the effect.

Example

It has been proposed by those who have a materialistic humanistic world view that the universe and time and everything in existence happened when a singularity, for lack of a better term, “exploded” and began to expand at the speed of light. Now, to address this logically one would have to say that whatever caused this “explosion” had immense power. It had to have more power than the amount of energy and matter contained in the universe. The law of cause and effect necessitates that the cause is greater than the effect. Can the materialist give a plausible explanation for the cause. They have proposed some fantastical scenarios but no logical ones. They have proposed a kind of universe that expands and then contracts and expands and contracts endlessly. The second law of thermodynamics nullifies that explanation. Others propose multiverses. Infinite numbers of universes. Do they have an explanation for the cause of all those universes? Not as of yet. According to logic they do not have one leg to stand on.

Now take for example, the scientist who believes in an all powerful, all knowing, ever present Creator. Being an infinite Being He can do and make what He chooses. He has more power than anything He creates. He knows everything intricately that He made. He has set laws by which everything works and obeys. Though He has established physical laws for His creation He is greater than the laws. One does not have to receive the hypothesis of a created universe by an infinite Being, but one will have to admit that it is a far more logical world view than the humanist.

Biblical world view

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Right here we can see the establishment of time. Time begins and matter and space are introduced. All of these effects were effected by a greater cause. The laws that we see at work in the universe are clearly laid out. All of true science agrees with what is presented. Logic is satisfied.

Humanists try to detract from this by saying that this is a religious view and requires miracles to establish its’ logic. But, it is not illogical if there is an omnipotent Being who can perform miracles or acts that are beyond the creation’s comprehension. It would be totally logical for such a thing to be. The only way that anyone could definitively state that there is no infinite Being is for that person to have infinite knowledge. Hence, for a human being to say that is illogical. We know that humanists do not want to admit to miracles because they do not wish to allow “a divine foot in the door”.

Evolution

Humanists not only believe in an illogical beginning but they believe in an illogical system by which life came into being and spread throughout the world. That belief is the belief of evolution. It is a belief because there is not one scientific evidence that Darwinian evolution has ever occurred. Darwinian evolution states that life began somehow and after that got more and more complex from one generation to the next until we human beings arrived. Not one tittle of empirical science can substantiate such a stance. Logic demands that evolution be dismissed as a viable approach to the life sciences.

Have you ever considered the possibility of life coming from non life. If the law of cause and effect is considered then non life would have to have more information than living things. That is clearly not the case. The laws of probability say that for the simplest living entity known to evolve from non life the chances are 1 in 10 followed by 4000 zeros. There are only 10 to 80th power(10 followed by 80 zeros) atoms in the whole universe. Logic declares evolution of life from non life null and void.

Would you consider any person who would believe such things as being in his or her right mind? But yet you hear so called scientist pontificating about life evolving on TV, in the news, in our public schools and universities and our government agencies. They have been brainwashed and are continuing to brainwash as many as will listen to them believing that they know more than the average person.

To believe in evolution you have to believe in the impossible. To believe in evolution you must take it by faith because there is no viable empirical facts on which to justify calling anything evolved. (Watch out when they try to use the word “change” in their definition. Their “change” subtracts information from their gene pool. It does not add information which is necessary to bring about more complexity.) To believe in evolution is illogical.

Creation

To believe that space, time and matter which make up our universe was created by a supernatural Being fits well with all the scientific evidences and laws. You might ask, “What about the original Cause?” Did He have a cause? Good question. The Cause is outside His creation. The laws of cause and effect, of thermodynamics, of probabilities and so forth are relevant to the creation. The Cause of all is outside the creation. He is supernatural, meaning He is outside of the creation overseeing it all.

His handbook on how and why He created this creation tells how He did it and why He did it. It sets forth the reason for certain laws and factors that are built into it. He encourages us to study His creation and learn of it. He presents evidence to show that it is logical in all its’ ways. Some have tried to point out flaws but without fail these endeavors always come up empty and must bow to the great logic found in the creation.

Logic will always side with the Biblical world view.

Is there a supernatural?

To answer the question bluntly, “Yes, there is.” To deny that fact is to throw logic and science out. To believe the opposite takes a blind faith in something that has no scientific evidence to support it.

Is believing in a supernatural logical? Without a doubt. When the supernatural view lines up with all the facts and all the natural laws support it, why would one not believe in it? The humanists have tried to paint those who believe the Biblical world view as ignorant or science deniers. But the truth is the humanists are the science deniers. For them to believe their world view they must have faith in something that they have no facts to back up.

You are special

Your Creator made you special. There is not another like you in all creation. He made you with a mind and a brain and a body to live on this earth. I encourage you to use that brain and mind and body and think logically as you learn about this world. I am confident if you will learn of both views that you will come to the most logical one.

Jumping Rope for Beginners

When I was growing up, my younger sister was an enthusiast of jumping rope. It never really interested me except when someone who was really good at it did some fancy steps or tricks while jumping rope. So now that I am at an age where I have to be attentive to my weight I am beginning to consider the possibility of jumping rope myself. So, I am calling this blog “Jumping Rope for Beginners”. Let’s see if this will be for us and maybe for you, too.

Jumping rope
For men too

Rope jumping for heart health

The American College of Sports and Medicine recommends skipping rope very highly. It increases aerobic conditioning. They suggest that it be done at least three times a week and for a duration of 12 to 20 minutes at a time. Because you are incorporating the largest muscles in the body you are aiding the heart in its’ ability to pump the blood through your body. So, by so doing you strengthen the most important muscle in your body.

Rope jumping for fitness

Rope jumping improves breathing efficiency. By increasing the body’s ability to exchange oxygen and waste gases you will increase stamina for work in many other areas. Your ability to do extended work or activity will be enhanced and increased in every area of your life.

Rope jumping makes you smarter

I need to run out and get a jump rope right now. It has been found in studies done by the Jump Rope Institute that jumping rope helps in developing the left and right sides of the brain. The benefits of this is increase of spacial awareness, improved reading skills, increase in memory retention, and brings about mental alertness. When jumping on the balls of your feet the brain and the body are constantly making fine adjustments to maintain balance. As a result dynamic balance, coordination, reflexes, bone density and muscular endurance is improved.

Rope jumping brings calmness

By invoking the laws of circular motion and angular momentum they explain how calmness is brought about. The body’s motion is subject to the law that governs projectile motion while the rope is subject to the laws of angular momentum. By mastering the balancing of these two functioning at the same time the brain reaches a point of balance, or calmness, which it can maintain in other situations in daily life.

Rope jumping

Other attributes

Rope jumping helps improve your coordination. It makes you concentrate on your feet. Most of us never even consider our feet unless they ache or we have health related problems with our feet. By jumping rope consistently you will become more nimble on your feet and have much more agility in all activities where your feet are involved.

Another attribute of jumping rope is that it builds strength in the foot and ankles and in so doing decreases the possibilities of injury to your foot and ankle. It also improves the ability to make sudden changes in direction and stopping or starting. And because in jumping rope you are continually on the balls of your feet this will be carried over into other activities and sports that you participate in. This especially helps people who are flat-footed.

Probably one of the greatest attributes is that it burns lots of calories. On an average, someone jumping rope for an hour will burn around 1300 calories. For a person who on average would consume 2000 calories per day you will have burned 2/3 of your daily calories in one hour. This is probably not convenient for most people, but if you can do 20 minutes you will burn well over 400 calories which is 1/5 of your daily calories. But another good thing is that it is aerobic and having raised your metabolic rate for 20 minutes means that for the next 8 hours your metabolic rate will he higher than it would normally have been had you not done the exercise. So, if you need to lose some weight it would be good to incorporate jumping rope with your diet plan to improve weight loss.

Equipment

The equipment in jumping rope is minimal. All you need is a jump rope. You can find these in a range of prices beginning as low as $5.00 on Amazon. I shall give you a link to the beginner jump rope on Amazon below. All you need is an area of approximately 8′ by 8′ and headroom of about 9′. If you live in a private home your garage is more than adequate. If you live in an apartment you may have to make adjustments. Watch out for over head fixtures such as light fixtures or sprinkler or smoke alarms. Even an inexpensive jump rope will last for a year depending on the environment it is used in.

Final analysis

If you find that you need to begin some type of exercise regimen but are limited in the budget that you have to work with, then begin with jumping rope. Rope jumping fore beginners is truly inexpensive. The benefits ratio to expense is by far the best. A membership in a health club is much more expensive. And to utilize a health club you have to go there. Travel time will take away from exercise time, so the benefit is not nearly so good. You can always have your equipment with you if you jump rope.

As we have shown you not only get physical benefits from jumping rope but you also get mental and emotional benefits as well. And you will not break the bank as far as equipment or membership investment.

Bicycling Exercise Benefits – Oh What Fun!

I have ridden bicycles since I was in the second grade. I am now seventy-one and am still reaping bicycling exercise benefits. And even today it is still fun.

Newpaper Bike
Schwinn

In my youth

I learned to ride my 22 inch bicycle in the second grade. It was great. I got my bicycle for Christmas and the only time I was off it was when I fell or when I had to go to bed or school. That is a little of an exaggeration. But my bicycle gave me such freedom as I had never known. I had access to my friends up to two blocks away. It was just a minute or two away from even my farthest friends. Of course, I always had to get permission from my parents. If I did not, I got in trouble. It goes without saying that we were in great shape. We never had any extra body weight to spare. We never had any leftovers either.

For the first seven years of my life my bicycle riding was just for fun. When I was in the ninth grade I had to attend a school that was about seven miles from my house. I did not want to ride the bus because that meant I would not arrive at the school campus in time to play football or basketball or baseball in the morning. So, I rode my bike seven miles to school every morning and seven miles home every afternoon. I managed to get to school thirty minutes earlier than the bus every morning whether it rained or shined. Boy, was I in good shape. After that year the bike was just for pleasure and was rarely used because I got my driver’s license after that year.

High school

I started high school in the tenth grade and lived within a fifteen-minute walk of the high school. So I walked and the bicycle got laid aside. I mainly used my bicycle to take excursions to the countryside around our town. Once a month or so, one of my friends and I would head out and ride for miles and miles. Sometimes we rode for fifty or sixty miles. Doing that just once or twice a month kept us in great shape.

College

During my college years I hardly touched a bicycle. In fact I did not have a bicycle of my own. Any riding I did, what little I did, was done on someone else’s bicycle. But I still enjoyed the ride.

The army

After college I went into the army for three years. We were fortunate enough to live in a homey little town where the streets were quiet and safe. To give my wife something to do rather than sit around the house taking care of our baby boy, I bought her a bicycle, which she wanted, and put a carrier on the back of it so she could carry our son around with her. It was a grand experience for her and gave her opportunity to help get back in shape after the birth of our son. But, I did not have a bike at that time.

Graduate School

When I got out of the army I went to graduate school. The school was a large university in a relatively large city. We were fortunate in that we lived in an area near the edge of the city proper. We were only about a five-minute bicycle ride from some beautiful countryside roads. So, as soon as I could afford it we bought me a bicycle to go along with my wife’s and we began doing bicycle trekking almost every weekend, weather permitting. We were able to do this for the three plus years we were in graduate school.

Work life

After graduate school I took a job for a year which was totally unrelated to my schooling, but it paid the bills. Then I learned a trade out of necessity and learned it well enough that within a couple of years I started my own building business. Though not a big building business it did pay the bills. As the family grew we kept riding the bicycles. They provided a great opportunity for the family to do an activity together. We continued to do this through the growing years of our two sons. As they got into high school and college years the bicycling waned. In fact it became nonexistent for many years.

Retirement

After thirty-five years of marriage my first wife passed away. I was very blessed in that within a couple of years the Lord brought a wonderful Puerto Rican woman into my life and we got married. One of the things she had liked to do when she was young was ride a bicycle. So as soon as we were able we bought each of us a bicycle. After about fifteen years of no bicycle riding I was on a bicycle again. It was like I had never missed a step. My wife does not get to ride very much because she is still working and usually has no time to ride. However, I ride my bike every day. Not for long distances, but regularly. It is not so much to get in shape or stay in shape as it is just for the enjoyment of it.

Finally

Though I have never ridden the bicycle as an exercise it has proved to be an exercise which has benefited me greatly. In addition to the physical well-being that it promotes it opens up avenues of mental, emotional and spiritual exercises. One can not ride on a bicycle without the wonder of being able to balance and maintain equilibrium while moving so fast. The sheer joy of the wind blowing in your face is exillerating. The vistas that are opened up to your eyes as you forge ahead. Driving a car has never come close to rivaling riding a bicycle and it never will. Just know this, that bicycling exercise benefits are far more than you can ever measure in physical things alone.

Oh, what fun it is!

Best Online Money Makers – Which Is Best for You

For people who are looking for ways to make money online there is a multitude of venues to choose from. But which are the best online money makers is hard for the average seeker to determine. Then to determine which is best for you becomes an even harder quest. I hope that this blog will be of assistance to you if you are looking to venture into the realm of making money online.

Popular ways to make money online

When one begins to consider alternatives for making money online one of the first to come to mind is Ebay. For many people this is a great opportunity to begin the adventure of building a business online. We shall consider it.

Another avenue is an online store. We shall consider the pluses and minuses of this, too.

Still, another is affiliate marketing. This is popular and we shall look to see why.

A fourth that is popular is blogging. You may not know what this is, but we shall find out.

We shall look at these four today, since they are the most common. From these you may find the right platform for your particular talents.

Logo Ebay
Ebay logo

Ebay

As mentioned above, this is one of the most popular for beginning to venture into online sales. You can begin a free account by going to this LINK HERE.

Once you have established your free account you can begin to buy and sell on Ebay. Most people begin by listing and selling things which they have and no longer use or need but which might be useful to someone else. Ebay is nice enough to provide tools for creating postage and mailing information. They will also help you and direct you in how to set up a Paypal account. Click HERE to create a Paypal account.

With the free account you are allowed a limited number of listings. For the beginner this is more than ample. It may take a month or two to gain enough understanding before considering an upgrade.

As you grow your Ebay business you will no doubt graduate from selling your own products to selling products which you acquire from what is called “drop shippers”. A drop shipper is a supplier who has a line of products and makes them available to sellers who market them through avenues like Ebay. You do not have to have or warehouse the product. You sign up with the drop shipper and he allows you to market his or her product through your online business, in this case Ebay. You pick out the product and add your mark up and take the information given to you by the drop shipper and list it on Ebay.

Ebay provides a well laid out form to help you list the products you wish to sell. The good thing about the drop shipping system is that it costs you nothing until you make a sale. When you make a sale Ebay and Paypal will take approximately 13% from the total to cover their listing and advertising costs and money transfer. Of course, you have already figured these costs into your marked up price. Once the sale is made and you receive your payment from the buyer, you then pay the drop shipper from that money and give him the information as to where to ship the product. Then you follow the shipment to confirm when it is delivered. You take care of customer relations.

If there are draw backs to Ebay and drop shipping it is in finding reliable drop shippers and quality products. The time involved in running an Ebay business can be large or small. It will depend on the volume that you wish to promote. The profit will depend on the competition and the products you sell. If you want to make big money plan on spending a lot of time. For people who like to stay busy this will be a good fit. The profit margin will be determined by the product, the mark up and the demand for the product.

There is definitely an opportunity to make money on Ebay. But it is not for the faint of heart or those who do not have plenty of time to devote to it.

best online money makers
Online Store

Online Store

The online store is another avenue of making money online. Typically an online store is a “niche” type of approach to sales. The idea of the online store is to market to a targeted group. The online store is similar to drop shipping except it is a narrowed field of products. If you are knowledgeable in a certain field and understand products related to that field, this may be a good fit for you.

There are several ecommerce site builders which can help you in setting up an online store. Among these are Shopify, Volusion, BigCommerce, Wix, and Woocommerce. All of these offer a free trial period to let you “get your feet wet” before spending any money blindly. You might check them out to see which fits you best.

The products you can market are limitless. It all depends on what you are familiar with and have some knowledge of. You can choose from many providers and set up your accounts with them. The system of receiving payment and paying for products and shipping is the same as drop shipping mentioned in the Ebay section. You choose and list the products that you wish to sell through your store and then keep tabs on how many are available through your supplier.

By having your own store you get to keep all the profits. Of course, if you use Paypal you must pay their fee. And if there are credit card fees you must pay them. But that is small compared to Ebay.

What you do not get is advertisement. You must promote and attract your own customers. However you choose to do that and the cost must be considered. You will also need to pay the monthly cost of the maintenance with whomever you build your store.

There will be time involvement and the amount of that time will be determined by how big you want your business to be.

Affiliate marketing

Let me begin by saying that affiliate marketing is a fine tool for commerce. It is an honest and viable way to make money online. It presents the potential to make good and even great income for the one who is willing to work and develop it.

But the affiliate marketing that I will address here are promotions that try to sell you an online website that is affiliated with such businesses as Amazon and Walmart. They present their product as a self maintained money making machine that you just have to pay for and then sit back and wait for the money to come in. The cost for such a business may range from $199 to $5000. They will take you for as much as they can. How do I know? I was one of their victims more than once.

These “scams” will tell you that they will set your site up and link it with Amazon or Walmart or whatever and all you have to do is sit back and count the money. Once they have your money they will tag you along until you are past the dispute time and then they will disappear and so will your website.

Any product that pushes to get your money and makes promises of easy money, beware of. Once they get one payment they will push for an upgrade. There is nothing necessarily wrong with upgrades but that is just another way of taking more of your money. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE!

My Recommendation

As you see above there are some good and viable ways of making money online. There are also schemers who are looking to take your money and leave you with nothing when it is all said and done. I would like to present to you what I have found to be a viable and honest way to make money online. It does not come with hyper promises of making great amounts of money, though the potential is there. It does not say that you will not have to work to develop it, but does tell you that it will grow proportional to the work that you invest in it. To allow you to develop your business and build it at the rate you choose, they will provide the tools that are necessary to do that. They promise not to leave you hanging by yourself but will provide a network of support and help which is accessible 24 hours a day.

The reason I can recommend these people is that I have tried the other avenues and have achieved some success in all except the “scammers” mentioned in the above section. I am now a member of the group that I am promoting and have in two months learned more about making money on line than I had learned in 8 months prior.

If you are truly interested in building a business, small or large, online I encourage you to look into this product. Check the link below to find more information.

God bless you in your search.

Best Body Detox Products-Lose Weight and Fat

In today’s sedentary society it is quite common for us to have a build up of toxin in our bodies. By toxin, I do not mean deadly poisons but trace elements which over time accumulate and begin to little by little affect our health and well-being. One of the ways that one can deal with such a condition is to do what is called a “Detox”. This is a procedure by which one introduces foods or products into the digestive system and over a period of time flushes out the toxins which have built up in the body. The main organ that is targeted is usually the liver. The other organ is usually the colon. Of course there are others, but these are the first to be addressed, usually.

If you are one of many today who feel that a detox might help raise your energy level and help you lose some of that extra belly fat, then looking into a detox plan might help you get started in that direction. To do that it will help to know what are the best body detox products to look at. In this blog we shall give you a few things to look for in a good body detox plan.

Cleanse Your Body
Detox

How detox works

Let us begin by introducing you to your liver. The main job of the liver is to extract poisons from the blood. It is the main organ in this process though there are some that help along the way such as the skin, lungs, lymph glands, and kidneys. When the liver gets overloaded because of medications or alcohol or caffeine or just plain bad food choices it may become necessary to detoxify your body. In other words, give your liver a little help.

You can detox your body by changing your diet and beginning to eating organic vegetables and fruits. This is probably the best approach if you have access and time to purchase and prepare these foods. If you do not have direct access to these organic foods there are other ways and products which can aid you in your quest.

There are numerous products that can aid you in accomplishing detox over different periods of time. Some prefer a rapid detox which usually takes about seven days. But some prefer a longer period of detox and make use products which may take up to thirty days. Your particular situation will determine which will be most convenient for you.

Symptoms

Some effects of detox

Many want to know if there are side effects to a detox regimen. Depending on the individual and the amount of detoxification there may be some noticeable effects, none of which are serious. The most prevalent effects are fatigue and possibly disrupted sleep. You may experience periods of tiredness. These are the most typical and are mostly harmless.

How often to detox

Some people like to detox two or three times a year. Depending on your lifestyle this may be good. But if your lifestyle and diet are structured around plenty of exercise and healthy vegetables and fruits, then the need to detox will not be very often. But if you live in a typical suburban area it might be a wise thing to exercise a detox regimen once a year. If you live in a congested urban area it might be wise to perform a detox two or three times a year. Your individual experience will inform you as to what is best for you.

Is detox for weight loss

In many cases where people wish to lose weight it is recommended that they first do a detox. The detox itself is not for weight loss, but it will aid in beginning a weight loss program. In performing a detox regimen one will more than likely lose some weight. This is usually not body mass but accumulated waste matter from the intestines and colon. It may be as much as 5 to 8 pounds and may result in inches lost in the waist and belly area. But the detox program should not be construed as to be a weight loss program.
